“The Lord placed a burden on my heart as a lower school director at Common Ground Montgomery to teach. As an advocate and liaison between Common Ground Montgomery and Montgomery Public School system, I grew a burning desire to teach minority children in the classroom. As an African American woman, I feel a specific burden for students that are not afforded the same opportunities as others. Teaching excites me and pushes me to give my best, work hard, and give more than I thought I could give. As a teacher, if I fail, my students fail. I live by this motto: If you love something or someone with all of your heart, lay down your life for it no matter what the cost! Valiant Cross gives me that opportunity!”

“Valiant Cross Academy is my first experience with teaching scholars!”
“My favorite teaching moment at Valiant Cross Academy was the reaction from my scholars after hearing the bell ring to end class. My scholars were reading The Illustrated Man Prologue by Ray Bradbury, instead of scholars rushing to put their things away, I heard them say ‘No, Mrs. Fair can’t we keep going? We can stay; it’s ok!’’
